However, nonimmigrants who are holders of the Employment Authorization Documents also receive this unique identification number.

Where Can I Find My Alien Registration Number?

You can find your Alien Registration Number on different immigration documents. Even if you don’t have a green card, you can still locate this number. The places where you can find the A-Number includes.

On your Green Card:

The number can be found on the front of your green card (permanent resident card) next to your photo if one has been issued to you. The alien number is also printed on the back of the green card.

On the Employment Authorization Document (Work Permit):

You can also find this number on your work permit if you are not a green card holder. This number is located under “USCIS#”.

Immigrant Fee Handout:

A USCIS Immigrant Fee handout is given to you by the immigration officer if you applied for your green card through consular processing. This paper includes your A-Number in the upper right side and directions on how to pay the USCIS Immigrant Fee.

Immigrant Data Summary:

A printout of your Immigrant Data Summary is likely stapled to the front of your immigrant visa package when you apply for your green card through consular processing. This is at a U.S. embassy or consulate.   You can check this printout for your A-Number. It is located at the very top of the Immigrant Data Summary.

Your Alien Registration Number:

The alien registration number can also be seen on an immigrant visa. Your passport contains your immigrant visa, also known as a visa stamp or visa foil. On the top right of the visa stamp, locate “Registration Number,” which is your A-Number.
